Limited Edition Art

Limited Edition prints are just that, limited in the number of prints that will ever be produced. Prints larger than 12"x18" are only produced in limited edition print runs. The size of the run depends upon the size of the print but will range from 400 pieces for the 16"x24" prints to a scant 25 pieces for the largest prints. When the print run, for a particular-sized image, reaches its conclusion, no additional prints of that size will ever be produced. Thereafter, those prints may only be obtained in the aftermarket.

When you invest in fine art, you should expect and receive nothing less than images that exhibit Quality and Longevity. Studies have shown that when using Epson's K3 pigment inks on fine art papers, the desired longevity is attained. Consequently, we have tailored our print workflow around this combination.

Quality starts when the picture is initially taken. I use a very high-resolution camera and lenses which are tack sharp. These allow me to produce a truly sharp digital negative that contains a maximum amount of information. Post processing is kept to a minimum so as not to degrade the information in the negative. Finally, a specialized RIP (Raster Image Processor) is used to drive the printer. Professionals agree that using a RIP produces fine art images with truer colors and better shadow and highlight details than that which can be obtained from the printer manufacturer's software.  By doing the printing in-house, quality control can be assured.

All limited edition prints are then signed and numbered by me and a certificate of authenticity is produced and signed. After the print has been given a chance to "outgas", i.e., vent gases that might otherwise cloud the glass of the frame, the print is delivered to you. If you are within a reasonable distance and previous arrangements have been made, prints can be hand-delivered. If impractical, they will be sent by registered post. In addition, we will make every effort to conform to your schedule.
